Charlotte Engagement Photography – Saundra & Steven

I met Saundra & Steven at the reception of a recent wedding I shot, and soon scheduled their engagement session. They drove down from Raleigh to Charlotte for their session and when they got here, we experienced one of the scariest and most violent storms that I have ever encountered. And we just kept on shooting straight away through it. Even when we stood at the train station, and the wind was blowing the rain sideways, beating on Courtney while she struggled to maintain her balance and keep the umbrella to somewhat shield my equipment. I have never seen so much lighting or heard so much loud thunder in my life. Saundra remained calm. She reassured us that if anything happened, she was an E.R. doctor and that we’d be okay in the end. Thanks for that Dr. Jackson. Heehee. Anyhow, no matter how much sky to ground lightning there was around us, there was a lot more electricity in the way these two looked at each other. (You know I had to go there.) Saundra and Steven, thank you for having a wonderful attitude throughout our session together, despite the weather (see video at the bottom of this post to see what I mean). I cannot wait to fly down to Florida this spring for the wedding! I will be praying that all hurricanes will not be happening while I’m there.

Family Portrait Photographer – The Ceh Family – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We visited family in Phoenix back in June & took a little trip out to Puerto Vallarta. While there, we did an impromptu session with my sister-in-law’s family. Otilia is my husband’s sister, and a very talented photographer. Johnny is my brother-in-law, Otilia’s husband, and the coolest geek I know. Jake is my little rambunctious nephew and a total Dennis The Menace look-a-like. Chloe is one of the most beautiful and happiest little babies I know and is my little niece. Chloe has Down Syndrome, and is a very special gift to our whole family. God has truly blessed Chloe with the best parents she could ever ask for. And our whole family loves her to pieces. Especially when she smiles!

Iftu was such a sweet little girl to photograph. Her mother had adopted her from Ethiopia, and since I have always wanted to adopt for as long as I can remember, it was so encouraging to see the love between this child and her mother. Could her face be any more perfect?

Roxanna & Johnny are more in tune with each other than so many couples that I have ever seen together. You can see it in the way they look at each other. Roxanna is one of the head girls at Chateau Bellevie, and has become a dear and close friend to me over the past year. She is funny, light-hearted, and a hard worker. Johnny is giving, thoughtful, and very protective of his girl. So cute! We drove to Charleston to do their session, because frankly -Charleston is ‘thebomb.com’. Any textures in the images are ones I’ve personally created using actual images I’ve taken in Charleston. Roxanna and Johnny, I really do love the both of you and truly cannot wait to shoot your wedding in October!

Weezie & Reid met on Match.com three years ago, and here they are today. Engaged! Reid loves photography, renovating his house, and Fight Club. Weezie is an OB/GYN & loves delivering babies. She also loves her dog and learning different languages. Together, they LOVE Paris & is where they got engaged. They are definitely my kind of couple!
