Wedding | Rebekah & Michael | Historic Kinloch

A while back, Ruffled Blog and I held a contest for a free wedding photography giveaway. We narrowed it down to three very deserving couples and allowed the public to vote for their favorite. Rebekah and Michael won and were finally married on July 24th. It was a hot & humid 107 degree summer day in Caret, Virginia at the Historic Kinloch. Let me just say that despite the heat, family and friends still rejoiced in dance. Lots of dancing, as I had expected from a couple who do it for a living. What I also thought was very special was that the cakes were each lovingly made by a different family member as a gift to the Rebekah & Michael for their guests. How sweet is that? The bouquets were also made by her family and friends using flowers bought from a local grocery store, which was so creative!

Anyhow, there were many tears throughout the day (even from myself), and much laughter too. I loved seeing how close this family was. And the way Michael & Rebekah stole glances at each other throughout the day, tells me they are in it forever, no matter what.

Rebekah & Michael, I leave you both with this: Luke 12:22-34. Always remember it.

Cans for Comments Update

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in my Cans For Comments drive! Based on the number of comments left on my blog from when we started until December 12, we’ve been able to raise 63 cans/grocery items for my local food bank! And because God has always been so good to me I will double that amount and donate 126 grocery items to my local food bank! Thank you so much to all of my regular blog readers and to my new visitors as well!

A side note on giving: I honestly and firmly believe in tithing 10% of everything I earn. Whether it is donating to my church, or to a family in need, it’s something that I have been doing since since my first babysitting job at ten years old. I have seen, firsthand, the blessings from God as a result of my giving. God has given me & my husband the means to live, so if you really think about it, we aren’t giving God 10% -He is letting us keep 90% of what is actually His. I wish I could help out every single needy family this season, and I would pray and hope that some of you read this and are encouraged to go out and help someone have a Happy Christmas.

Stay tuned for Recipe Mondays No. 5, comin’ right up!
