Recipe Mondays No. 4 { Totally Rad Actions }

Hello! I realize I am posting this much later than normal and that I haven’t posted any Recipe Monday for the past two Mondays. I was terribly sick last Monday (so Recipe Monday was the furthest thing from my mind) and was in Phoenix the Monday before that. Now that I’ve explained myself, we can call it even. Let’s move on to this week’s installment of Recipe Monday: No. 4 using Totally Rad Actions !

Here is an original image of Dennis & Bebica.

Using Yin/Yang, I “Yin’ed” their faces & arms.

After flattening the image, I used the healing brush to clean up all of the skin imperfections.

Used the Pro Retouch brush to soften the skin and then reduced the opacity to 75% to keep it looking more natural.

Flare-Up (Golden) at 30% opacity.

Wedding Photography ~ Taralie & Brian ~ Phoenix Wedding Photographer

I flew to Phoenix a couple of weeks ago to photograph the wedding of the lovely Taralie & her new handsome husband, Brian. The ceremony & reception took place at the gorgeous Stonebridge Manor in Mesa, Arizona. I first met Taralie when she modeled for a conceptual shoot I did a few years back & honestly, I never thought I’d hear from her again. And boy am I glad I was wrong! She had called and asked if I would do her wedding and how could I say ‘no’ to this photogenic bombshell?? I then met the two of them for an engagement session a few months back, and you can see that session HERE.

Let’s move on to their wedding day. What I loved about it was that it had a very subtle French theme. With bouquets + lanterns, the romantic ambience & the awesome french music playing throughout the night, I would say all in all I LOVED it! Also, this was Alin’s second wedding that he’s second-shot alongside of me and I will credit which ones he’s done below.

Taralie & Brian, I pray that God will pour His blessings on you abundantly. Remember, just because you’re married doesn’t mean you should stop dating each other. Even after kids, never forget to date;)

black friday

here’s how mine went down. decided on thursday night that i was gonna’ get a trampoline from toys r’ us for $100 less on black friday. set my alarm for 4am. woke up at 4am only to change it to 8am. woke up at 8am & almost didn’t go, but then decided to go. drove to toys r’ us after gettin’ cut off left and right by people suffering of the black friday crazies. pulled into the parking lot expecting to spend at least 30 minutes finding a spot, but got lucky with a guy pulling out of a spot as soon as I pulled in.

nice.

walked into the store with one agenda. to buy that trampoline. it’s been on sale since 4am and knew there was a really good chance it may already be gone at this point. i stepped over to the customer service counter, even though there was a sign that said “returns, exchanges, and price adjustments closed until 1pm”, and asked if they had any more trampolines. surprisingly, an associate actually cared to check and her computer said no, but that she would be more than happy to go double check in the back room. i was in shock. a helpful associate who would “double check” for me on black friday? today must be my lucky day. so i waited for her. as i waited, a lady came to make a return and was turned down because there was a sign that read: “returns, exchanges, and price adjustments closed until 1pm”. and that did not sit well with her.

not well at all.

she spoke to the associate. then the supervisor. then she wanted to call corporate. so they said call 800-toysrus. she went home to call corporate. i looked at all the crazies standing in line. some of them, you can tell have been there for a while. lookin’ at the lines made me feel suddenly claustrophobic. i hope i don’t have to wait in line. the associate came back and said, “great news! we have one left, and we’ve pulled it out for you!” and i was like “wow! thanks so much!” she gave me a piece of paper and told me to take it up to one of the registers, they’ll ring me up and i can pick it up around the back of the store. i walked over towards the lines where a million-billion people were waiting and stood there making my decision of which line i would wait in. i didn’t think even three seconds before another register opened right next to where i was standing and the lady motioned for me to come to her. for real?? i walked up to her, gave her the ticket, rung me up, paid her, and made my way home.

now that’s what i call a black friday experience.
