Bridal Portraits ~ Callie ~ Charlotte Fashion Photographer

Okay, so this is shoot #2 from my three shoot series of high fashion bridal portraits from this weekend. This morning, I got to shoot the lovely Miss Callie. Hair and makeup by Yours Truly. Bouquet was also designed and created by Moi. The dress is an actual vintage piece I found on Etsy by the fabulous Claire of Green Hydrangea Marketplace. The veil and patent leather flower hair piece you see was also found on Etsy by Katherine of ‘Liaison’. LOVE LOVE LOVE her pieces!

I realized after a year of living in the south that the brides here, I have found to be leaning towards more traditional attire when it came to their wedding day. Brides! Get out of your comfort zone and try something different! Make yourselves stand out! A high fashion bridal look does not need to come at a high fashion cost, you know. Etsy is a GREAT place to find unique, high quality hairpieces, dresses, shoes, and other wedding day decor and you do not have to break the bank to look original and chic!

So I am going to show you one image from my many MANY favorites from this morning that I hope will inspire some of you traditionalist brides to step outside the box and do something different.

This shot was taken inside the Mez at Charlotte’s Epicenter. I had shot a bridal shower party here a few months ago and have always wanted to come back and shoot this wall with a very stylish bride. Many many more images to blog from yesterday and today’s sessions, along with a ton of images from Alin & I’s weekend getaway to Charleston, SC and will be posted starting Monday. Come back and check here daily! I would love to hear your thoughts! Let me know what you think below!

I ♥ Faces ~ Fix-It Friday ~ Mr. Handsome

Over at I ♥ Faces, they post an image every Friday for everyone to borrow and use their own methods of editing to make that picture look better. This one isn’t a contest, but it challenges us with something new every week to see if we can improve an image by putting our editing skills to the test. So this week we got Mr. Handsome! Bridal Portraits ~ Lola ~ Charlotte Fashion Photographer

Being soooooooo busy with weddings and other portrait session, it’s been a WHILE since I’ve been able to play around with fashion photography (which really is my favorite style to shoot). Today I was able to work with the fabulous Lola, and we decided to hit up the Carolinas Aviation Museum and do a 1940′s inspired aviation shoot. This girl is just a natural beauty and really knows how to rock it! Courtney did such a beautiful job with her makeup & hair too. Brides, you need to give Courtney a call! She REALLY knows what she’s doin’. The gorgeous hair piece/veil was created by Baroque And Roll, and you MUST go see her other hair creations. I strongly urge all of you brides to step outside the box a little and do something like this instead of the traditional white veil. It is SO chic! And of course a HUGE thank you to Alin, my hubby-wubby, who stood out in the heat today to help me with the lighting. Thank you babe, and I love you so much!

I have SOOOOO much to post in the next week or two. Come back and check everyday for more from my fashion shoots. I will also be posting a TON of images from my mini overnight getaway with Alin in Charleston. I don’t have too much time today to post a long one, but I do want to leave you with a sneak peek from what went on this morning at the Aviation Museum with Lola. Don’t forget to comment!:)
