lorimarsha » Blog Archive » Creative Collaboration - [...] I was recently contacted by Caroline Ghetes who saw my dress designs in my Etsy store. She asked if I was interested in a creative collaboration- her photography, my dress. Of course I said yes! She did a photoshoot with a vintage aviation theme and I am thrilled with how she designed the shots. See them here. [...]

Bridal Portraits ~ Sarah Lynn ~ Charlotte Fashion Photographer

Meet Sarah Lynn! Part 3 and the final part of my three-shoot bridal portrait inspired extravaganza! You may notice that she is wearing the same dress as Lola but I wanted to see if I can get two completely different looks using the same dress, as a way to challenge myself. Lola’s was kind of a modern day 1940’s aviation inspired bridal shoot and with Sarah Lynn, I wanted more of a natural country farm girl feel. And the dress, by the way, was designed and created by the amazingly talented Lorimarsha who can be found through Etsy! We shot at the gorgeous The Farm at Hodges’ Dairy I can only post one image from Sarah Lynn’s session from yesterday afternoon, as that is all I have time for now, but stay tuned. I have MUCH to post this upcoming week from these three sessions and from my weekend getaway to Charleston with Alin. Here is one of my MANY favorites my Sarah Lynn’s session.

Bridal Portraits ~ Callie ~ Charlotte Fashion Photographer

Okay, so this is shoot #2 from my three shoot series of high fashion bridal portraits from this weekend. This morning, I got to shoot the lovely Miss Callie. Hair and makeup by Yours Truly. Bouquet was also designed and created by Moi. The dress is an actual vintage piece I found on Etsy by the fabulous Claire of Green Hydrangea Marketplace. The veil and patent leather flower hair piece you see was also found on Etsy by Katherine of ‘Liaison’. LOVE LOVE LOVE her pieces!

I realized after a year of living in the south that the brides here, I have found to be leaning towards more traditional attire when it came to their wedding day. Brides! Get out of your comfort zone and try something different! Make yourselves stand out! A high fashion bridal look does not need to come at a high fashion cost, you know. Etsy is a GREAT place to find unique, high quality hairpieces, dresses, shoes, and other wedding day decor and you do not have to break the bank to look original and chic!

So I am going to show you one image from my many MANY favorites from this morning that I hope will inspire some of you traditionalist brides to step outside the box and do something different.

This shot was taken inside the Mez at Charlotte’s Epicenter. I had shot a bridal shower party here a few months ago and have always wanted to come back and shoot this wall with a very stylish bride. Many many more images to blog from yesterday and today’s sessions, along with a ton of images from Alin & I’s weekend getaway to Charleston, SC and will be posted starting Monday. Come back and check here daily! I would love to hear your thoughts! Let me know what you think below!

Flory - I love all the elements in this picture. The white doves floating in the blackness, the way she stands out and is that smoke I see? It’s an awesome picture. And you’re right about the dresses, I really like this vintage look.

I ♥ Faces ~ Fix-It Friday ~ Mr. Handsome

Over at I ♥ Faces, they post an image every Friday for everyone to borrow and use their own methods of editing to make that picture look better. This one isn’t a contest, but it challenges us with something new every week to see if we can improve an image by putting our editing skills to the test. So this week we got Mr. Handsome! Here he is, unedited.

Lori Lynn - Wow. You really put a lot of work into this, but the subtleties really pay off. It looks fantastic and it never occured to me to use the left eye to fix the right eye. I have so much to learn.

Crystal - Love his caramel eyes. Great edits. :)
