I ♥ Faces ~ Wedding Bells Challenge

I have entered a photo into a weekly contest, which this week will be judged by the fabulous Jasmine Star, on the I ♥ Faces blog site. I entered the image below because number 1, it’s two people that I adore. My brother Genaro & his new wife Gaby. Number 2, I love how she is totally and freely laughing and Genaro is trying to hold himself back, but still stifling a smile (so like him). This photo represents them perfectly. She’s a free spirit and they couldn’t be more opposite…but they couldn’t be more perfect for each other:)

Personal Weight Loss Challenge ~ Week 2

weight-loss-jpeg-06-27-2009

So I lost another 5 pounds since 5 days ago! I will be updating my weight on here every Saturday. If you want to see the original blog post for when this all began, go read it here. So since I have started my diet and exercise, I have lost a total of 17 pounds! I can’t believe it! I am SO excited!

My goal for next Saturday’s weigh in, is to lose another 3-5 pounds. We’ll see if I can do it : )

Praise the Lord for helping me with my health so far! I am already feeling more energized and feeling less pains in my joints. It truly is a miracle for me! Food has been my enemy these past 5 years. I mean REALLY my enemy. I had found myself constantly thinking about food and letting myself go hungry until the middle of the day and then of course I would scarf down the greasiest and largest possible dish. Then I would do it again late night! I hated myself after each time I did it. I mean I really hated myself for not being able to control my cravings. And then there was soda. I would have, no joke, between 3-6 cans of diet soda per day. There were times where I wouldn’t drink water for days! My challenge to you soda drinkers out there, diet or regular, STOP drinking soda altogether. Just stop. It is going to suck for the first couple of weeks and you will experience withdrawal headaches, but I guarantee you that if you do just that, that it will automatically cause you to lose weight AND you WILL feel more energy as you drink more and more water each day. Eventually, you won’t even crave soda anymore.

What saddens me about the whole weight epidemic in America is that it is my honest-to-God opinion that the reason why Americans have such a short life span is the amount of fried foods we eat and the artificial additives that we find in the foods we eat out. There are so many countries out there that don’t eat as much fried foods as people in America and you notice their weight, in general, is wayyyy lower than us here and they are living longer lives. I don’t know about you, but I plan on living until 105, and still being a feisty 105 year old at that;).

Post any stories below and I’d also love to hear any other weight loss tips that some of you have that you know has either worked for you or someone you know! I challenge whoever is reading this and needs a physical change in their lives to hold themselves accountable and post their weight here in the comments section and their goal for next Saturday. If you would rather email me, please do so! I would love to read about you, your challenges, and just listen to any story that you might have about your struggles or your successes! I read and respond to every email that I get, so do not hesitate to tell me your story!

Engagement Session ~ Taralie & Brian ~ Charlotte Portrait Photographer

While I was in Phoenix, I got to shoot a very special engagement session with Taralie & Brian. I first shot Taralie about a year and a half ago for a conceptual modeling shoot. You may remember these shots of her…

Well now Taralie…cutie patutie Taralie is getting married in November and I will be back in Phoenix then to shoot it. From some of the details that she has spilled so far about her day, it sounds like it is going to be one chic wedding. I can’t wait!

This engagement session was shot inside a home of a family friend of theirs. Believe it or not, all of the pictures from their session took place inside or outside their home! The lady of the house made us the best guacamole dip ever and she had such great taste in decor. Here are some of my favorites from our session…

Doesn’t it almost look like he’s doing a moon walk?

I love the body language and emotion that feel from this image. They could practically be in a Ralph Lauren ad!
