Sabin and I go wayyyy back. I’ve known him since he moved to the states from Romania. He is kind of like a second uncle to me. He is my uncle’s wife’s brother, so we are kinda’ like family, you know? If it makes any sense. And before I say what I am about to say, in the Romanian church community, if you are not married by the age of 21, you are too old and it is too late for you, apparently. I laugh about it all the time because I know it isn’t true and there are more and more Romanian youth coming to their senses on their own and not listening to this nonsense. Well in my second uncle’s case, he is 37, and I had never met his fiancee, Carmen, until the day of their wedding. I will admit that I let this Romanian thinking enter into my brain when I was waiting to see who he ended up with and who would marry him at such an “old” age. Well, when I saw her… my jaw practically went through the floor. She was absolutely stunning. I have no other way to describe her except that she has an old “Hollywood-esque” glamour look. Was it worth the wait for Sabin? Oh yes. What touched me even more was the way they looked at each other and the way that they touched each other. I could tell that this was the real deal. On his wedding day, Sabin looked the best I have ever seen him look since I have known him. Maybe it was the way his face lit up each time he looked at her. Who knows? God knows, these two have been through many good times and some sad times, but on this day, I could tell it was one they would never forget. God bless you two! I really hope that I have captured this day for you in a way that you will always be able to relive it over and over again each time you see your photos.
To start with, let’s show a few details from the wedding day.

Believe it or not, Carmen styled her own hair and did her own makeup. Isn’t she amazing?

This was actually a candid shot of her looking in the mirror. She had a beautiful natural posture throughout the way which made it very easy to photograph her.

With some time to spare before the ceremony, they played a little pool.

Moments before leaving the house, I took this snapshot of her using the beautiful window light. She is absolutely flawless.

Both did one last beauty check and touch-up. I love this one.

Funny story about this shot. After a few poses, Sabin picked up his hand only to reveal wet blue paint and then my heart immediately sunk into my stomach when I thought about what the back of her dress might look like…considering I had asked them to lean up on it for a couple of poses. She turned around and thank God Almighty above, that she had decided to not listen to me about leaning on the building. So we escaped a potential disaster, but it was one of my favorite shots of the day, nonetheless.

What a handsome, handsome man, that Sabin ; )

Probably one of my top 5 favorites of all time. This cracks me up each time I look at it.

Not many people can pull off closeups, but these two just blew it out of the water on this one.

I love me my new Pocket Wizards!

I love this little moment between them at the reception.

The reception took place at Happy Valley Romanian Church’s reception hall where they usually home cook a bunch of Romanian food for wedding receptions and have a bunch of Romanian youth volunteers serve the food. They worked so hard so I thought it would be fun to get them all in a group photo with the bride and groom. I love how the girl in the center looks to be falling over people.

I hate being in photos, but I had to take one with my second uncle, so here is me eating Sabin and Alin measuring Carmen?
