Engagement Photography ~ Tracie & Thomas ~ Charlotte Engagement Photographer

These two are some of the funniest and ‘funnest’ people I have worked with so far. (Plus her sister who came along, and managed to get quite a few laughs out me also). I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in April! We still have a Bridal session, an bridal shower and rehearsal dinner to shoot as well before we even get to their wedding. I am so excited to be able to build up their story through photos for every one of their events leading up to their big day! We met at the Carolinas Aviation Musem for most of their engagement shots and here is what we got.

Aren’t they so stylish? She made this yellow blazer. Hot!

I LOVE this shot of them two. They are naturals at this posing thing.

He just cracks me up.

It’s no wonder they mesh so well together. He is funny. And she thinks so too.

They requested these next two shots for their ‘Save the Date’ cards.

After the aviation museum, we headed over to Big Ben, a British Pub. These two met for the very first time in London, so this was as close as we were gonna get to London in the Carolinas.

Thanks you two, for being such great models! You guys were funny, easy to work with and super stylish. I can’t wait to move on to the next project with you!

Trash the Dress Photography ~ Jennifer ~ Charlotte Trash the Dress Photographer

So this morning, I headed out to downtown Charlotte for a little TTD (Trash the Dress) session with Jennifer. This girl is somethin’ else. She was hit on my passersby’s, & trusted me completely no matter what I asked her to do So here is a little sneak peak of what we got. It was awesome working with you, Jennifer!

The 90′s…boy, do I miss it.

I logged onto my Facebook account this morning only to run into this little group called “You Know You’re a 90′s Kid if You Remember This”, and I have seen it before a few times, even received invites to join the group but just looked at it as spam and didn’t bother with it. This morning, I figured, ‘why not? I’ve got a couple of minutes’. I read this list and honestly, I teared up. I remember 99% of the things on this list and how much each of these meant to me as a child growing up in the 90′s before iPods, Wii, and Text Messaging. Here is what the world has come to today: On many occasions, I have seen families out to dinner with their kids and heir kids are either texting, or listening to their iPods rather than talking to each other; I have seen school age children at school bus stops, where each one has some sort of device they are using or listening to, rather than talking to each other… I mean I couldn’t wait to see my friends at the bus stop and talk to them all the way to school! I have decided, since the first day my first child was born, that I would not give in to what I call “slack parenting”, where I could just use television, iPods, or computers to babysit my children. I have made it my mission, that my children will receive limits on the use of televisions, and computers and that they will be required to be kids. Play outside, play board games, read books! This is what childhood is all about and I cannot let them miss out on it. You have one chance in life to be a kid and then you are on your own, baby. I don’t want to ever regret not giving that to them and having them resent me for it for the rest of their lives. God help our children today. It has just gotten so bad.

Read this list, and I want to hear your thoughts, too!
